As we settle into the beginning of February, I thought i’d share with you a few of my favourite beauty, fashion and lifestyle items from last month and why I love them! Some of these products you may have seen featured elsewhere in my blog recently, but I love them so much that they really do belong here! 😉
1 + 2 La Roche-Posay ‘Toleriane’ Dermo Cleaner + La Roche-Posay Soothing Lotion
I mentioned recently that I am a big fan of Lancôme skincare and beauty products. Lancôme products are not available in my local area, so if I am I have ran out of cleanser or toner, I head to my nearest Boots store and grab these from the la Roche-Posay section (don’t you just love French skincare products!). I love La Roche-Posay products because for me, they are not too strong on the skin, they don’t feel damaging, and the scent is not overpowering – I simply want a product that can cleans and tones my skin without irritating it in any way. With the Dermo-Cleaser I simply apply a small amount of product onto my fingertips and massage my face in circular motions. I particularly pay attention to my forehead when doing this – if I miss this area I tend to get tiny bumps appearing on my forehead! With the Soothing lotion, I apply this on my skin with a round cotton pad after cleansing. At 200ml, both bottles last a long time, they are a little more expensive that the typical drugstore products, but the price is in no way overboard for the quality and great results that you get! I personally use this cleanser for both day and night (if you are not as rigorous with your skincare routine i’d go for cleansing and toning at night at least).
If the La Roche-Posay product I’m hunting down isn’t on the shelf during my ’emergency moment’, I turn to the Avène section. I find their products have very similar results when used on my skin. I particularly love this Hydrating Cream of theirs, and I now use it everyday as my day and night moisturiser, it’s the perfect base for my make up, helping to give me a radiant glow as well as working to hydrate and nourish the skin!
I absolutely adore Delhaas’ designs, they are irresistible. I’m a complete sucker for cute things and well-made products. This is just that, all in one. I love everything about it, from the typography used, the perfect colour and texture of the diary, and the gold foil embossed on the cover. I did manage to get this in a sale, but I will not lie, it is still the most expensive diary I have ever purchased but it is totally worth it if you want to plan in style – also suitable to fit in your bag or possibly a pocket, it’s A6+ (original price at €40).
Ah, Kinfolk! This is the kind of magazine/book that I love to sit down reading with a cup of tea/matcha in my right hand and burying myself in the cosiness of a soft sofa. I still haven’t finished reading this – good job it’s not a monthly edit or i’d be behind by miles! This particular issue talks about the home and how it reflects our evolving personal narratives. I now know what “hemmablind” is and it definitely exists in my home.
In love with these booties. I have been wearing my other Zara high-heeled boots for a while now, almost everyday of January. I wore them two days straight running around Paris like a tourist, I brought no other shoes – and yes, I felt dead afterwards! I was so happy to finally take them off once I reached home, absolute relief. I walked into a Zara store this week and couldn’t believe there was still a sale – how much stock could they possibly still have?! I managed to grab these for £12, what a steal 😉 my feet will feel good in these for sure, and protect me from the typical British rainfall (sigh).
What are your January favourites?
I’m so excited to get on with this month – i’ll be attending my first ever Fashion Week event, woohoo! I’ll definitely give you insight into that one when it comes 😉 Tomorrow i’ll be headed to Oxford for the weekend, I lived there for three years between 2012 – 2015, so it’s super nostalgic to go back, looking forward to it. Talk soon, ciao!
