I’m never worn a sequin dress in my life – or a sequin top, or trousers – sequin anything?! Let’s say they’re not usually within my style, but I saw this dress online and fell in love with the colour and sequin effect. Part of Zara’s ‘Evening Collection’ and priced at £49.99 – this is just too good!
It’s labelled as a Short Sequin Dress, but if you look closely there are elements of black velvet to give the dress this kind of ‘electric illusion’ ..if that even makes any sense. You can probably see what I mean better through here.
I wore this for a Christmas Party this week, and felt surprisingly confident in it (bold colours are not usually my thing, but hey, this could be the new me?!). Comfortable is exactly what I wanted this year. I hunted this down the day before the party, though I actually had an outfit previously ready (yes I did, I swear!) but thought it was too ‘summer-y’ for the british weather right now. It was this long elegant navy satin skirt with a slit and this spaghetti top in orange from Urban Outfitters. There’s no way I would have been comfortable in that, not at a Christmas party anyway. But this is great dress in that it totally stays in place. There is no embarassment with this one! I don’t know about you, but at a Christmas party I just want to move about. A lot of dancing can be involved and you could be in a crowded venue bumping into people and leaning down for food etc. The last thing you want to think about is “oh no is this showing?! – oh ok, phew” every 5 seconds (yep that’s me..).

Hope you’ve had a great weekend, and a wonderful Christmas Party if it’s happened yet!
Also, I may try to do a make up video soon.. what do you think of that? Let me know on here or on IG!
