Pecan Pie


It is known as one of the many desserts associated with Thanksgiving as I’m sure those across the pond will know. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK, but this pie is one of my favourites, and i’ll choose it all year round if it’s in the cafe!

I decided to have a go at making my own using (by Elise Bauer). Here’s their ingredients list below if you want to make this pie yourself. You can follow the link to see their method.


  • 1 9-inch pie shell, frozen
  • 2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp molasses
  • 4 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
